Podcast Episode 075: Real. Good. Food. – Ellie Krieger
Oct 4, 2017
“We live in a world of extremes and as dietitians we want people to know that they don’t have to give up their favorite foods. I hate the word moderation – it’s meaningless and boring and it doesn’t give us any context. I find that my food philosophy of “Usually/Sometimes/Rarely” gives context to moderation (notice I did not use the word “never”). This concept has been so successful with my clients that I now create recipes with this philosophy in mind. I don’t cook “to the numbers” – so what blows me away is when I create a recipe with this philosophy and then do the nutrition analysis, 99% of the time it works out to be healthy. That to me is proof in itself! It’s the basis of everything I do. And it is literally the inspiration for every recipe I create. That and also when I‘m thinking to myself: “what do I want to eat – what am I craving?” – Ellie Krieger
